The iconic Times Celebrate Bandra parade promoting this year's theme 'Going Green', in all grandeur, partied their way through the streets of Bandra to mark the beginning of 125 events that were staged over a period of 15 days. Art installations made from scrap and waste material was set up at strategic locations all over the suburb. Music was loaded with the works, and had something for everyone, from morning ragas, to an evening of choral music against the magical backdrop of the Mt. Mary Basilica Oratory, to Sufi and energetic rock at the promenades. Diverse cuisines were sampled at the food festival held at the Bandra Gymkhana, while the D'Monte Park Recreational Club played host to the Bandra Wine Festival which showcased wines from 12 different wineries that had enough to go around. Sports, a traditional Bandra passion had 8 local clubs vying for top honours across 5 disciplines. Literature and dance included, book reading in cafes, salsa by the sea, film screenings and poetry slams added to the element of fun. Theatre was staged at a unique park setting and the festival ended on a high note with the "Car Free Day".
